FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT



The Faculty of Earth Sciences, University of Silesia
with the Committee on Polar Research, Polish Academy of Sciences
and the Polar Club, Polish Geographical Society
organize the 34th Polar Symposium – meeting of polar researchers
and explorers hold every second year.

34th Polar Symposium will take place at the Faculty of Earth Sciences, University of Silesia
in Sosnowiec, 60 Będzińska Street on 14-16 June, 2012.
Symposium will provide an opportunity to present recent research results of polar studies
in oral and poster form during plenary, thematic and poster sessions.
The Polar Club of the Polish Geographical Society meeting and traditional polar evening will be
held to allow discussions, exchange of ideas and to plan further research and exploration projects.
Plenary meeting of the Committee on Polar Research, Polish Academy of Sciences is also planned.
Estimated costs of participation in the symposium will be as low as possible.
The organizers are making efforts to be able to apply the discounts
for post graduate and Ph.D. students.
Accommodation of participants in hotels and the University student dormitories
near the Faculty of Earth Sciences.
Details will be provided after 15 November 2011, in the second announcement.
We invite polar researchers to participate in the 34th Polar Symposium.
